Join us on International Women's Day, for an inspiring morning exploring the lives and legacies of Remarkable Women of Tunbridge Wells. Discover how their courage, creativity, and determination helped shape the town we know today.
Led by Heather Stracey, Senior Collections Officer at The Amelia, this engaging talk will highlight pioneering figures such as Amelia Scott - the social reformer and campaigner for women's rights whose name proudly graces our building - along with trailblazers like Pauline Gower, who championed women in aviation, and Sarah Baker, an influential 18th-century theatre manager and performer.
Through stories drawn from local history and The Amelia's collections, this session celebrates the remarkable contributions of these women and their lasting impact on Tunbridge Wells and beyond.
This event is part of The Amelia's "History Hour" series - keep your eyes peeled for more fascinating talks coming soon!
