This informal morning concert features the exceptional talents of violinist Katy Johns and pianist Alexander Metcalfe, performing Beethoven's radiant “Spring” Sonata (Op. 24) alongside a selection of short works by Bach, Chopin, and others.
The musicians will introduce each piece, sharing stories and insights in a friendly, conversational style.

About the Performers
Alexander Metcalfe studied at the Royal College of Music and has performed across Europe as a soloist and with ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra. His work spans classical performance, composition, and multimedia theatre, and has been featured on BBC Radio 3, BBC2, and in venues such as King's Place and St. James' Palace.
American violinist Katy Gorsuch Johns studied at Indiana University, the Royal College of Music, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama before embarking on a playing career which has taken her to venues such as Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and St David's Hall. As a member of the prize-winning Bronte String Quartet from 2001 to 2006 she performed at IMS Prussia Cove and on BBC Radio 3. Since working as a freelance violinist, she has played with Independent Opera at Sadler's Wells and the English Chamber Orchestra.
